Garden Gizmos
A Garden of Gizmos is a whimsical garden full of mechanical flowers, plants and creatures that are as mesmerizing and fun as they are educational. With 19 hands-on interactives, this exhibit entertains and engages children and adults alike. A Garden of Gizmos is created by Clifford Wagner Science Interactives, Inc. and will be on display at Omaha Children’s Museum through January 3, 2010. Visitors can explore holiday traditions from around the world! Created by local ethnic community groups, the Ethnic Trees Exhibit showcases beautiful holiday trees representing a variety of countries. light PLAY
A Celebration of Holiday Magic at the Omaha Children’s Museum. A delightful holiday light show playing several times each day features lights and shapes that dance to memorable music. This year’s show features favorite holiday tunes in an original arrangement by the museum’s Artist-in-Residence Joey Gulizia. Show times are Tuesday–Saturday: 10:30, 11:30 am, 1:30 & 2:30 pm and Sundays: 1:30, 2:30 & 3:30 pm. The Omaha Children’s Museum is located at 500 S. 20th Street. The Musical: Little House on the Prairie takes on a new frontier in this uplifting musical starring Melissa Gilbert as Ma Ingalls, who played Laura in the much-loved television series. Driving Forces- Maestro Thomas Wilkins is your tour guide on a musical exploration of motivation. What drives music and what drives people? Fun, familiar pieces are introduced to encourage children to dream big and activate their imaginations. We'll hear the awesome music that's been created when people have worked hard and followed their inspiration. Cheaper by the Dozen
Follows the family life of the Gilbreths in the 1920’s as they cope with and ultimately begin to rebel against the totalitarian discipline of their father, who attempts to make their household operate much like the factory he supervises. The play, in addition to many comic moments, also includes a valuable lesson about family ties. Full of heartfelt fun and promise. Pilot the ferry to Birdwell Island, serve up fish and chips, make music on Clifford’s Xylobone, search for buried treasure in T-Bone’s sandbox, and slide down Clifford’s giant tail!
