It’s looming nearer and nearer. The last day of school is right around the corner and last year’s “camp” with your mother-in-law was more of a lesson on how much sugar is too much sugar than anything else.
You know summer camp seems like the much better option, but you haven’t taken the leap yet. It sounds expensive, you hear the camps fill up really quickly, they’re inconveniently located, or it’s hard to find options for the range of your kids’ ages and interests.
But – what if that weren’t the case?
The YMCA offers a variety of camp options so all kids have the opportunity to have a fun summer, keeping both their minds and bodies active.
The best part? The Y offers affordable camps, with scholarships available for those who qualify.
Pick up the YMCA Summer Camp Guide at your Y, or online, sit down with your kiddos and shop through all the camps, ranging from horseback riding, STEM-focused engineering, specialty camps like mindfulness, fairytales, and even babysitting certification, and map out your summer.
All YMCA of Greater Omaha locations host a Summer Camp Open House March 17, from 10:00am-12:00pm, where you can fill out all the paperwork, ask questions and save on the registration fee. And with activities for the kids, you can bring them along and keep on rolling with your errands run. This is the perfect opportunity for first-time camp parents to get the scoop, check out what the Y has to offer and learn how YMCA summer camp will not only be a great decision for your kids, but for your family.
With such a wide-spread variety all offered at the same place, you’ll find a camp for every one of your kiddos – from your kindergartener to pre-teen, from your sports fanatic to your scientist.
The summer fun at the Y doesn’t stop at camp. Summer baseball and softball leagues begin in June and swim lessons run all year long. Plus – don’t forget about tumbling, gymnastics and early childhood programs! There really is something for every member of the family.
See you at the Y!
